- VxVM w/VxFS
- Whole disk with VxFS
What is the difference between LVM and VxVM?
Is it possible to have both HP-UX and Linux installed on the same disk with VxVM?
Thanks
Peter

Re: Difference between LVM and VxVM w/VxFS
intallation HP-UX is based on architecture of CPU, not based on disk.
So If your CPU architecture is PA-RISC you can not install Linux at that system.
For LVM, VxFS, VxVM, just search at the forum.this case is opened before.

SolutionPeter is refering to the install task as they concern the target disk.
Peter,
Traditionally hpux does not do partitions
In order to support the EFI for Itanium systems limited partition support is avaiable.
Still, it does not seem worth it to hassle with all that. Personally I decided to just go with the two disk one for each OS. In my case that was OpenVMS on one, Hpux on the other. I then created a virtual VMS disk over a LV place holder on the hpuc drive to have more play space.
Many interesting writings exist already.
