Does HP-UX 11 iV3 support EMC Symmetrix DMX2000M2?
Does HP-UX 11 iV3 enhanced I/O support the EMC Symmetrix DMX 1000/2000/3000M Series? We were told that this version of HP-UX will support WW ID's for the devices. The older Symms like the 8000 series dont. We know the new DMX3's do, but I am not sure about the DMX 1000/2000 & 3000 Systems.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Does HP-UX 11 iV3 support EMC Symmetrix DMX2000M2?
Hi,
You have to check copmatibility matrix from emc powerlink. For new i/o stack support you have to set SPC-2 flag on the EMC side.HP-UX 11i v3.0 is unsupportable without the SPC-2 flag enabled for the HP-UX 11i v3.0 initiators. As far as i can see there is no SPC-2 flag setting with DMX/DMX2 and HP-UX 11.31 in the interoperability matrix. But i thimk you have to cantact with EMC.

Hi,
See here:
http://www.hp.com/products1/serverconnectivity/mass_storage_devices.html#EMC
Seems like the anseer is yes as long as your DMX firmware is up to the right level.
I'd also check on
http://powerlink.emc.com
and use the e-lab interoperability navigator to get the scooby from EMC.
