I forgot when read that vgchange, lvmerge and lvextend commands with -s option can disable the VG or LV sync.
I want to know which patch contain this enhancement.
Thanks!

Re: Does vgchange, lvmerge and lvextend commands has -s option?
It would help to know which version of HP-UX you are using. My 11.11 systems show a -s option for each of those commands.

OK. When you can, just post the output of
uname -a
that would help.
Disregard - no need. I posted this before I saw your 11.23 version.

Re: Does vgchange, lvmerge and lvextend commands has -s option?
I don't seem to be able to get to HP's online man pages for 11iV2 so all I can give you is the 11.11 description:
-s
Do not synchronize the new mirror copies. This may affect data high availability and you should use lvsync or vgsync to synchronize the mirrors.
The -m option must be specified along with this option.

Why wait (assuming you or anybody can find the online documetation that you want?).
That said:

...and then:
...to find all the flavors of the 11i manpages :-)

Hey, Pete!
Always happy to help! Finding documentation after the documentation mutation event is a Hanzel-and-Gretel affair with very few pebbles ;-)
[ And no, I dislike having to bookmark what at that moment might be the most recent manual, but in a day or so, might not ]
Regards!
