How to know if i have redundancy in my storage

Hi.

I have two hba's in my hp-ux version 11.11.

I need to know if these hbás have redundancy or multipath using XP storage.

I use LVM, and that shows two lines as:

PV Name /dev/dsk/c0t1d4
PV Name /dev/dsk/c4t1d4 Alternate Link

I whish the information because the XP needs firmware update.

Thank you.

Shalom,

The output indicates you have a valid alternate path. In a test environment, pull out one of the fiber cables and see if production keeps running. That should prove definitively if in fact it works.

I don't see where the firmware update comes into it. To prepare for that, I'd have a good backup.

This indicates the alternate link.

Your HP engineer probably has a script called switchxp - this does also a checking of the pathes. Ask him!

Hope this helps!
