I have a mirrored vg00 on a server. I would like to keep the current HP-UX version (10.20) on a disk while I install HP-UX11i on the other disk. How can I do it ? (lvreduce/lvsplit...?)

Re: Keep HP-UX10.20 while installing HP-UX11i
Thanks. If I understand, I can do:
lvreduce -m 0 /dev/vg00/lvolx /dev/dsk/one_disk
for all the lvol' s of vg00.
This way, I will have the disk "one_disk" free to install Hp-Ux11i, and the other disk will kepp HP-UX10.20 still installed. Is this correct ?

Re: Keep HP-UX10.20 while installing HP-UX11i
After doing the lvreduce, you also will want to do a vgreduce to remove the disk from the root VG.
Then install to that disk.
If you dont do the vgreduce then you're 10.20 disk would have trouble booting, because you would have "bad" (not really bad just 11i) lvm information on one of the "10.20" disks in the volume group.
Best regards,

Re: Keep HP-UX10.20 while installing HP-UX11i
Thanks a lot to all of you. I├В┬┤m already installing HP-UX11i and I hope to have no need to use my old O.S. (10.20).
Thanks again.
