LVM 2.1 and SG?

Hey;

Are there any issues running LVM ver 2.1 vgs in a Serviceguard cluster? I hope not as I may have made a rather large error if there are...

Thanks for any info.

Hi,

Here are notes about LVM 2.1 volume groups:

Re: LVM 2.1 and SG?

Hey;

Thanks. The notes never flat out say they're compatible, but then again, they never say they aren't either. With no information to the contrary, I assume they are.

Guess I'll find out for sure sometime soon.

Thanks again

Re: LVM 2.1 and SG?

for Serviceguard A.11.18, PHSS_37602 has the following:
This patch delivers an enhancement to Serviceguard to allow HP-UX LVM Version 2 volume groups in clusters.
This is applicable on HP-UX 11iv3 March 2008 release and beyond.
For further details on this enhancement refer to the Serviceguard A.11.18 Release Notes March 2008 Reprint.
User action is required in order to enable this enhancement. It is not enabled automatically.

Re: LVM 2.1 and SG?

Hey;

Thanks for the reply. It is 11.18 so it looks like I have a patch or two to apply. I'll run the software assistant against it before trying to set up the cluster.

Thanks again.

Re: LVM 2.1 and SG?

Shalom,

My research shows a properly patched SG environment and system can run this software combination reliably.

I'd have current QPK's and SG/LVM specific patches installed prior to implementation.
