LVM Disk with no vg info

Hello,
I have a disk that was previously used in a hpux machine in LVM configuration. The disk contains data and I like to recover it. The problem is that I do not know what volume group it was part of or for that matter I do not have any other information but I do know that it does contain data. Any help .....

Re: LVM Disk with no vg info

Use the command

# vgscan -apv

This should report any volume groups it can find on all disks. If the output is correct, rerun without the "p" (preview) switch. You can then use vgimport to create the volume group.

Hi,

Remember to create group file before you can import the VG.
