LVM recovery
I just remove the all files under /dev/ and /etc/, now I recover almost all except lvm-relatec configuration.
How can recover /dev/vg00 and /dev/vg01?
thanks

Re: LVM recovery
HI
why you need to remove all files from /etc/?
i believe you should only recover /etc/ from your good backup.
for lvm check below,

Re: LVM recovery
The files was removed by a unsanity script.
I just recover /etc/* from /usr/newconfig/etc/*,
However, all this files is very original, and no any information about lvm, which is updated after OS installation.
Now, I think the /etc/lvmconf is re-generated by vgscan, which may refer to /dev/*,
and if manage to recover /dev/*, /etc/lvmconf might be required.
so I don't know how to fix.

Re: LVM recovery
I have no any backup for this server, the real situation is the server is running.
I just copy /usr/newconfig/etc/* to /etc/* and did _insf_ to back some /dev/*.
I have a vm machine running on this host, but it can't hpvmstart.
root@sshia1# ./hpvmstart -p 7
HPVM guest ux23 configuration problems:
Warning 1 on item /dev/vg01/rux23: '/dev/vg01/rux23' backing device does not exist.
These problems may prevent HPVM guest ux23 from starting.
hpvmstart: Unable to continue.
it seems that this vm has been attached a boot disk /dev/vg01/run23, which is removed.
I worried about once I reboot the server, it can't back to running status. But current problem is I want to recover LVM so that the vm machine can run again.

>I have no any backup for this server
I hope you know what to do next time to recover from this. ignite
Is the problem only on the host? Have you done a backup on the guests so at least you can save them?
