LVM redundancy

Hi,

I have 2 HBAs connected to two SAN switches which are connected and zoned to two different ports of the EMC storage array.
We see four different devices for each LUN that we masked, the system sees the disks correctly, scsimgr lun_map or get_info, LUN path
count is only 1. It should be 2.
My os version is 11.31

How can I make the system see the other path?

To configure the alternate path for the redundancy should I used the vgextend command?

Re: LVM redundancy

Hello,

Make it simple and proper.

Use agile view when you add physical volumes
into volume groups. As simple as that.

Multipathing is then native and easy
in HP-UX 11.31.

Cheers,

Re: LVM redundancy

Hello,

Thanks for the recommendation.

The vgextend command is the correct command to configure the alternate path for the redundancy?

Where can I find the agile view and documentation if possible?

Thanks.

Re: LVM redundancy

Hi:

Yes, the 'vgextend' command adds alternate links to an LVM volume group.

There are a number of excellent whitepapers on LVM in 11.31. See the "LVM VOlume Manager" section here:

http://docs.hp.com/en/hpux11iv3.html

In particular, you can see:
