Mirror-UX
last week I successfully completed an upgrade from HP-UX 11.00 to HP-UX 11.11 using an update mode (not cold install) using the Foundation environment.
When I tried to mirror the LVs from the VG00 using lvextend -m ..... i got an error stating that the -m was not a valid option.
Afterwards I checked the previous configuration notes and I found that in the 11.00 version I had a "Mirror-UX" package but it is not there anymore.
Where can I find this package?
Do I have to pay to mirror the boot disk?
Is there any other way to mirror the logical volumes from vg00?
Thanks in advance!
Seba

Re: Mirror-UX
You will need to re-install mirror/ux from the Application CD.
IF you have a software contract and a codeword for 11.00 to get a codeword to unlock the product is a cost free upgrade in most cases.
You can mirror the root disk with a dd script, but its not instantaneous like mirror/ux.
Reason #540 to not use upgrade-ux. It deletes things and doesn't tell you. I thought it was supposed to prompt for a new code word or something.

Re: Mirror-UX
MirrorDIsk/UX isn't part of the Foundation OE. It sounds as if you licensed MirrorDisk/UX on 11.0 but failed to order (at least) the Enterprise OE in which it is included.
You will need to contact HP licensing and obtain a codeword for the MirrorDisk/UX product. With a valid codeword, you can add MirrorDisk/UX from a current 11.11 Application CD.
Regards!
