Need to change the PE size to 64Mb.

Gurus,

I would like to chage the PE size from 4 to 64 because we have space left on the VG but the "number of PEs " are maxed out.

I am sure i need to reconfigure the vg but any thing new, so that i can do online, without recreating the VG.

Sorry - the only chance to set PE size is at vgcreate time so you will have to recreate the VG.

Hi,

The only option is to recreate. While recreating also set MAX_PE_PER_PV & MAX_PE_PER_VG to slightly higher values so that you are not required to repeat this recreation again.

The PE is not a modifiable parameter. It is set when the volume group is initially created, and cannot be changed. If you think you will be adding more, larger, disks to the vg, you may even want to go bigger than 64 in order to allow for future (bigger) disks in the vg

You can only have chance for PE size while creating vgname...
and vgcreate -s pe_size refers this.
