New Lun from Xp24k is not visible on hpux server

Hi All,
I have assigned some new luns from the XP 24K storage to One of the Vpar on SD. There are already luns assigned to the Vpar from the same storage, and all are working fine.

Only the new luns which are presented now, is not visible on the host.

My OS is HPUX 11.23

Thanks,
Shanmugam

Run
#ioscan -fnC disk
#insf

or check in /dev/dsk/* for any newly created device file.

Re: New Lun from Xp24k is not visible on hpux server

yes,
i have already run the ioscan and insf commands. Again if run the ioscan command it is giving the new device file(CLAIMED), but xpinfo is now detecting the new lun. Even the diskinfo of the new device file also not showing anything, it is saying no such file or directory.

Thanks,
Shanmugam

Detected by ioscan and xpinfo? Good.
What is the problem now?

Did you run insf already?

Hope this helps!

Re: New Lun from Xp24k is not visible on hpux server

So if you can see them in ioscan as you told and they have device files now, xpinfo should work too. Please confirm.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Shalom,

Try pvcreate on one of the new devices that shows up on ioscan. The raw device.

Review your setups.
Something is missing/wrong in there. Check your secure manager, check your allocations, check your luse assignments, check your SAN zone assignment(s) to that host all over again. You missed a step, or miss keyed something.
