PV-Links to EMC Power Path

I have an rp5430 with EMC Clariion CX400 attached. Configured with PV-Links.

How do I convert this to run with EMC Power Path? Does anyone have a step by step process? Thanks!

Re: PV-Links to EMC Power Path

hi,

you need to install powerpath,

register your powerpath with your license key

powermt display dev=all ( show wich devices/disk are managed by powerpath )

powermt config

powermt save

powermt display

powermt display dev=all

set the policy of powerpath, and if its everithing working, them redice alternate PV-links from VG.

Re: PV-Links to EMC Power Path

Thanks for the help.

Installing PowerPath is not the problem for me.
What steps do I take to drop the PV-Link and make PowerPath pick up the EMC LUNs
Will PowerPath create new device files and automatically enter the /etc/lvmtab file?

And automatically present the LUN to the rp5430 with the existing data??

= ok if you display your LVM configuration ( VG )

vgdisplay -v /dev/vgXX you will see for each LV-vol multiple alternate links.

if you install powerpath, he will not change the name of disk, or create a new one.

And automatically present the LUN to the rp5430 with the existing data??

= the lun is already presented, so it will be automaticaly presented.
