PVG is used to give redundancy wen there is a controller failure.
If your both boot disk are on same controller, if a controller fails you will not be able to access both disk.
So create two groups (pvg) list disks under different controllers under different groups.
If the lv have pvgstrict policy, it wil not allow you to mirror to the disk which is under the same group.
files.
1. /etc/lvmpvg
2. while vgcreating use the switch -G
