PVG Question

Can you change the order of the disks within a volume groups PVG in the /etc/lvmpvg file?

for example

can i change

VG /dev/vg11
PVG PVG11
/dev/dsk/c45t14d4
/dev/dsk/c44t11d6
/dev/dsk/c49t11d6
/dev/dsk/c44t15d4

to

VG /dev/vg11
PVG PVG11
/dev/dsk/c44t11d6
/dev/dsk/c44t15d4
/dev/dsk/c45t14d4
/dev/dsk/c49t11d6

Thanks
Jim

Re: PVG Question

Hi,

yes, you can. It just defines to which PVG a disk belong. The order does not matter.

All unix flavours are exactly the same . . . . . . . . . . for end users anyway.

Re: PVG Question

Hi Jim,

Luckily, unlike the lvmtab file, the lvmpvg file is aa ASCII file so have at it with vi. Just watch out for typos. ;~))

Cheers,
Jeff
