Problem with VXVM -- new LUN assignment in hpux 11.31
Hello All,
I am facing a strange problem with vxvm 5.0 with HPUX 11.31
SAN Team has assigned one LUN with 2 paths to hpux server. OS side everything seems ok.
It has one dsf path & 2 legecy paths. But when I check in vxvm with vxdisk list command :-
It show 2 different LUNs there . But basically it is only one LUN with 2 paths. Other LUNs in systems are also same & has no problem.
SAN team removed this LUN & tried to assign other LUN. Still it has the same issue.
Also I got errors in syslog about :-
Evpd inquiry page 83h/80h failed or the current page 83h/80h data do not match the previous known page 83h/80h data on LUN id 0x0 probed beneath the target path (class = tgtpath, instance = 13) The lun path is (class = lunpath, instance 54).Run 'scsimgr replace_wwid' command to validate the change
I have run below commands :-
scsimgr replace_wwid -D /dev/rdisk/disk137
scsimgr replace_wwid -D /dev/rdisk/disk103
scsimgr replace_wwid -D /dev/rdisk/disk192
As i see there 3 devices in "no_hw" statte in belolw comamnd output
" ioscan -m lun"
Now syslog error is gone but still I see 2 paths in vxvm for one LUN.
HPUX side (dsf path ) it is one only .
e.g.
/dev/rdisk/disk192 /dev/rdsk/c28t0d6
/dev/rdsk/c26t0d6
Seema to be problem with vxm.
Does any body has any idea about this issue.

Hi,
Have you run "vxdisk scandisks"?
What is the storage? All necessary flags are set on the storage?
Can you post:
# vxdisk list disk_name
# scsimgr get_info -D /dev/rdisk/disk192

Just run
# vxdctl enable
It will rescan disks
# vxdctl enable
It will rescan disks
"The difference between me and you? I will read the man page." and "Respect the hat." and "You could just do a search on ITRC, you don't need to start a thread on a topic that's been answered 100 times already." Oh, and "What. no points???"
