Quisced volume groups??

Hi ,

"LVM volume groups can be quisced allowing
VG administration without deactivation". This is a feature in v3. Quisced? How? Do help. I always assign APPROPRIATE points.

there is a chapter

"Quiescing and Resuming a Volume Group"


Basically you "stop" the volume group, now you can backup or at least do a snapshot or whatever, once done you continue the VG.

General usage is

# vgchange -Q mode vgnn

but more options are available. See the man page.
