RAID-5 configur storage MSA30 with HP-UX 11.23 rp3440

Hi All,

I want to need your help, how I can configur MSA30 with rp3440 OS HP-UX 11.23. below the systems status:

Hi,

this could be done with saconfig, see "man saconfig" for more information.

Example - creating a RAID5 with 1 spare:

# saconfig /dev/ciss6 -R 5 -p 2:0 -p 2:1 -p 2:2 -p 2:3 -s 2:4

# insf -eCdisk

Could you please explain me below command, becaus I don't have clear understand RAID-5 config on HP-UX envirement:

# saconfig /dev/ciss6 -R 5 -p 2:0 -p 2:1 -p 2:2 -p 2:3 -s 2:4

I have alredy go for "man saconfig" page. But I have not very much clear idea saconfig.

Please help me.

a drive is identifies by Ch:ID, like
2:0

You create a RAID5 (-R 5) on the specified drives and a spare (-s) on the remaining drive.

I have execute the command & the output the below:

# saconfig /dev/ciss6 -R 5 -p 2:0 -p 2:1 -p 2:2 -p 2:3 -s 2:4

Rebuild Priority is set to High
# insf -eCdisk
insf: Installing special files for sdisk instance 0 address 0/0/2/0.0.0.0
insf: Installing special files for sdisk instance 1 address 0/1/1/0.0.0
insf: Installing special files for sdisk instance 2 address 0/1/1/0.1.0
insf: Installing special files for sdisk instance 3 address 0/4/1/0/4/0.0.0

MSA30 has physical H.D.D 5pcs, but showing green LED only 4pcs. Rest one H.D.D no LED.

Please give me your feetback & can you tell me how I can confirm the config is ok?
