Recover files from a HP-UX B10.20 hard disc in VxFS

Hi,

I need to recover some files from a old hard disc from a HP model 712/100.

The disk seems to be formated in VxFS.

I have the harddisk and also a raw image.

But I didn't found any way to mount the image or the disk even in linux.

Could someone help me?

Is there any tool/driver/package to read a VxFS drive?

Thank you in advance.

Bad luck.
You need anothe HP-UX system that can handle the file system, LVM and SCSI.

Hope this helps!

Re: Recover files from a HP-UX B10.20 hard disc in VxFS

Hi,

That's the obvious and simple solution.

But, it's not posible for me. I don't have any HP-UX system.

The disc was copy made prior to the system crashed.

I'm looking for some solution using actual systems. Could be linux/windows based, or even any solutions running on Vmware.

Thank you any way.

This system was new in the early 1990s.

Now you would need a system that can handle the Fast-Narrow SCSI-2 HDD, the LVM structure and on top VxFS.

Maybe it is even HFS.

Finally, only another (old) HP-UX system can do this.

Hope this helps!
