Remaining HDD space available left by LVM

I set up HP-UX 11i on a 36Gb HDD using default settings.
SAM shows me that HP-UX filesystems don't use the whole disk.
I would like to know how much disk space remains unused by LVM.

Re: Remaining HDD space available left by LVM

The simplest way is to run sam and go to:

disks -> volume groups

and you'll see the space available on each volume group. Or you can run vgdisplay and look at the free PE number. This number is in 4Mb units so multiply by 4 to convert to free megs available. You can create additional lvols inside the volume group.

If you want to know the free inside each filesystem, use the command:

bdf

Re: Remaining HDD space available left by LVM

vgdisplay /dev/vg00

check "PE Size" and "Free PE" in the output.

Total free space in MB="PE Size" X "Free PE"

Total free space in MB="PE Size" X "Free E"
