Replacing two mirrored 18Gb disks with two 73Gb disks

Hi
I have one volume group spread over 4 18Gb mirrored disks. Each disk contains one LV. I would like to replace one pair (one LV) with 73Gb disks. Is this possible? Or must I replace all the disks? The VGs 'Max PE per PV' is set to 4342 (4Mb PE) so only 18Gb! I am running HPUX 11.00 with MCServiceguard. The mirrors are in a separate "hot standby" node in the cluster. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Kieran

Re: Replacing two mirrored 18Gb disks with two 73Gb disks

Hi,

Unfortunately you can't replace on-line the disk because you are limited by the Max PE of 4342.

The alternative is to create a new VG with the 73 Gb disks and copy lvols.

Thanks Pedro
Just a bit of extra work with Serviceguard then! Cheers.

Hi Kieran

Preferred option is to create new VG with 73Gb disks
