Snapshot LV showing as available/stale

When I create a snapshot in a v2.2 VG, the status shows up as available/stale. However examination of the unshared LE's shows them all as current. Here is the lvdisplay output:

# lvdisplay /dev/vgshare/_S7
--- Logical volumes ---
LV Name /dev/vgshare/_S7
VG Name /dev/vgshare
LV Permission read-only
LV Status available/stale, snapshot,space efficient
Snapshot Status operative
Mirror copies 0
Consistency Recovery NOMWC
Schedule parallel
LV Size (Mbytes) 36864
Current LE 36864
Allocated PE 139
Stripes 0
Stripe Size (Kbytes) 0
Bad block NONE
Allocation strict
IO Timeout (Seconds) default
Pre-allocated LE 2048
Current pre-allocated LE 1909
Unshared LE 139
Current pre-allocated PE 1909
Original LV /dev/vgshare/lvol1
Timestamp Sat Feb 12 12:54:14 2011
Auto Pre-allocation Enabled
Threshold Percent default

I can't find a note about this in the docs. Does anyone know if this is the expected behavior?

Thanks.
