Re: VG00 missing from lvmtab 11.23

# vgcfgrestore -n vg00 /dev/rdsk/c3t2d0s2

this just writes the VG header from backup to the disk again.

I would start with one disk and try the vgscan -p -v again.

Take care

# vgcfgrestore -n vg00 /dev/rdsk/c3t2d0

(without s2) will create a mess.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: VG00 missing from lvmtab 11.23

Is this the error you were expecting?

 vgcfgrestore -n vg00 /dev/rdsk/c3t2d0s2
vgcfgrestore: Volume group "/dev/vg00" does not exist in the "/etc/lvmtab" file.
vgcfgrestore: Could not open Physical Volume "/dev/rdsk/c3t2d0s2".

Re: VG00 missing from lvmtab 11.23

vgcfgrestore: Could not open Physical Volume "/dev/rdsk/c3t2d0s2

This is not expected.

What gives

# model

# idisk /dev/rdsk/c3t2d0

Hope this helps!

Re: VG00 missing from lvmtab 11.23

So the partitions are there.

I would test the disk now.

# diskinfo -v /dev/rdsk/c3t2d0

# dd if=/dev/rdsk/c3t2d0 of=/dev/null bs=1024k

Watch out for read errors.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: VG00 missing from lvmtab 11.23

Still strange.

The disks looks like healthy (dd), partitions are there.

I wonder about:

Could not open Physical Volume "/dev/rdsk/c3t2d0s2

Maybe it helps to re-create the special device files first?

# insf -e

BTW, what gives

# vxdisk list

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: VG00 missing from lvmtab 11.23

 vxdisk list
VxVM vxdisk ERROR V-5-1-684 IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible

I ran the insf -e cmd and vg00 is still not found.
