VGcreate still active

Hi all, I ran vgcreate command but it seems it didn't do nothing.
I haven't got any error message.
If I try to kill it using "-9" option it doesn't die!
I killd its father but the only result I got is to change its father to init!
How can I kill hanged vgcreate command?

If it's owned by init, the only way to kill it is to reboot.

Kill -15 should be used whenever possible to help avoid this situation.

Mauro,

It's waiting for I/O to complete and won't accept signals until the I/O does complete. That's why you can't kill it. The only way to get rid of it is to reboot or figure out how to get the I/O to complete.

Ok, I got to activate lun on which vg's command tried to do I/O and magically it disappeared.
