VxVM 5.0 Installation
Hello all,
Currently the Base VxVM 4.1 are installed on hp-ux 11.23 server. Is that necessary to remove VxVM 4.1 first if I'd like to install VxVM 5.0?
Anyone has experience for this? Any suggestion is apprecriated! Thank you

Re: VxVM 5.0 Installation
Read from page 15 of http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-5508/5991-5508.pdf
You do not bneed to first remove the old version.
You will also have to install VxFS 5.0

Re: VxVM 5.0 Installation
Hello melvyn,
Thanks for reply. The page 15 just mentioned the VxFS upgrade path. I guess you mean the step 3 to install VxVM 5.0 on page 18 implies no needs to remove VxFS 4.1 and VxVM 4.1 first(because step 1 and 2 don't mention that), that's right?

Re: VxVM 5.0 Installation
Is there something in 5.0 that you need or a bug in 4.1 that is leading you to upgrade to 5.0?
We were advised against moving to 5.0 at this point because at release some things were not supported and I always like to allow ample time for someone else to work the bugs out.
