VxVM versions...

When I look through the HP-UX 11.23 patches, I see patches for VxVM 3.5 and 4 (seems like I saw 5 too). How does one go about upgrading from 3.5 to version 4 or 5?

We don't currently use VxVM on our HPs because the vxdmp that comes with version 3.5 doesn't support IBM DS4400 disk arrays. As I recall, that changed in version 4.something.

Re: VxVM versions...

The thread tells me an upgrade to 4.1 is available. VxVM 4.1 is not available at the software depot. Anyone know where it is?

Re: VxVM versions...

Learned from http://www.hp.com/softwarereleases/releases-media2/notices/march06communication.pdf :

"The September 2006 fusion media for 11iv2 provides customers with a choice of Symantec products for high-availability environments. Both 3.5 and 4.1 versions of the file system (VxFS) are available, with 3.5 versions being installed as default."

Hope that helps,
