better way to create an idisk partition table from an existing disk

having just posted a thread where I made a partitioning error creating the idisk partition table file in the wrong order.

I have an existing disk, is there a clever way to create a replica partition table from it,

eg: in Solaris you can use tools such as prtvtoc,

is there a better / clever way to take the partition layout from disk1 onto disk2 as I've just created an idisk file

HPUX 100%
HPSP 400MB

but when I check with disk info, the sizes are slightly different.

I'm still trying to get my head around working with disks on IA64, but I'm sure there must be a way to cope the partition table from disk a to disk b exactly.

Can you run diskinfo on the other disk files also to exactly find the space on each slice
s1 s2 and s3?

Normally the default HPUX 11i v3 installation takes the following table. You can verify the size before creating the disk structure on replaced disk

HPUX 100%
HPSP 400M

To add with the my above reply, I didnt know/find a replica tool that can use the partition structure of itanium disks to create a new one, tried to search, but no luck, will wait to hear from other experts here.

The procedure you did is the default and recommended.
If the sizes are some kByte more or less it doesn't matter - don't worry.
