boot option with hpux on vxvm and rootdg

Hi guys,

i have a system without a lvm and vg00.

My system have a rootdg with vxvm.

I want know the difference from lvm and vxvm at boot level.

For example:

in lvm a boot without quorum is hpux -lq . What is a command for vxvm?

Single user mode?

Special mode?

thank at all

Re: boot option with hpux on vxvm and rootdg

I have a system that is set up with a VxVM boot disk and 'hpux -is' and 'hpux -lq', to boot into single-user mode and with low-quorum respectively, both worked.

'hpux -lm' did not work.  I have not had a chance to look for the equivalent to LVM maintenance with VxVM.

hpux(1M) suggests that hpux -vm is what you want.  hpux.efi(1M) concurs for Itanium-based machines.

And that is correct.  "hpux -vm" on my PA-RISC system booted the system into VxVM maintenance mode.
