Re: extend the root file system

I added a new disk on my station, and created a new LV nmed lvoltmp.

Then I launch the following command, and get some data from my old LV lvol until block 505

dd if=/dev/vg00/rlvol9 of=/dev/vg00/rlvoltmp bs=1024k count=505

And, now I have another problem:
How can I know the number of blocks of a Logical Volume ?

I want to do the same command and specify exactelly which block copied since I know the corrupted one.

Thanks again.

Re: extend the root file system

Hi

U can do without using count=505,

it is only for end count, - if u give w/o count it may take same time.

Once when u say u want to extend the /, certainly ur / may filled.... Why cant u try without count , and proceed further.
Things are very easy, when u know about it...
