fsck check on mounted Filesystem

Hello,
Need to do an Filesystem Check on an active System. No Chance to boot in Single User Mode!
I got about 120TB to check mounted in 2TB Luns.
How can I do an fsck on the mounted Filesystem with an output to prove that alle the Filesystem are Ok?

why do you feel the need to do an fsck ?
is there any corruption ?

you can do fsck on single user mode not on a mounted filesystem.

If you do not face any problem with the filesystem or the server as whole there is nothing else to prove.

Hi,
Running fsck :
fsck should always be run in a single user mode which ensures proper repair of file system . If it is run in a busy system where the file system is changing constantly fsck may see the changes as inconsistencies and may corrupt the file system .

If the system can not be brought in a single user mode fsck should be run on the partitions ,other than root & usr , after unmounting them . Root & usr partitions can not be unmounted . If the system fails to come up due to root/usr files system corruption the system can be booted with CD and root/usr partitions can be repaired using fsck.

Hello,
I need to do an fsck only on my Data Partitions.
We replacing the Disk Subsystem and the vendor from the New Disk System will be sure the existing Data Partitions are all correct.

If a disk vendor would propose me, to do a fsck of a vxfs filesystem on HP-UX, to check on the data integrity of the vxfs filesystem, that guy and his diskarray wouldnt need to come back. (now I hope this was not a HP diskarray he purposed ;) )

He could have suggested completely other things, like installing the latest LVM/VxVM/vxfs patches on the system, if the system was not currently patched, or checking if the system comes up fine after a reboot, or unmounting/remounting the filesystems, checking the /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log for errors, having a good backup, etc.. sensible things like that, but not doing the fsck, it only would give me the impression that the vendor doesnt know HP-UX or vxfs and has probably a not to great trust in the diskarray he purposes..

Can you unmount those filesystems? Possibly fsck(1m) one by one?
