hung fsck

I forgot to suspend srdf on a device group before running a script to mount the devices. Half way through the script executes an fsck on the file systems which has hung and wont die. I've now suspended RDF and tried to kill -9 the fsck pid with no luck. Do I have any option other than a reboot?

Re: hung fsck

I should clarify a little better. I'm trying to mount an EMC SRDF mirror. I forgot to suspend the SRDF process so the changes fsck made to teh file system were most likely instantly over written. Also I do not care if killing fsck corrupts any data because all I need to do is restart SRDF to rebuild the data.

Re: hung fsck

Hi Will:

If a 'kill -9' won't terminate the process, then the process is hung waiting on something like an I/O. Rebooting may be your only recourse.

Regards!
