is it possible to do Dynamic Lun expansion on VG00 HPUX 11.31 IA

Hi,

I need to grow several vg00, and I would like to know if you can do DLE on VG00 on itanium, because the disk has partitions(EFI,etc), not soure how you can grow partition 2.

We are running hpux 11.31 IA, and the vg00 is lvm 2.2

vg00 should be restricted to OS and application install directories. It can be expanded by adding additional LUNs, or to resize the first 3 lvols, an Ignite image can be used to restore to a new LUN. How big is the current LUN for vg00?

The vg00 luns are 50 gigs, we have a client requirement that vg00 can only have 1 disk(long story), I don't need to extend the first 3 lvols, I wanted to know if it's possible to do Dle on vg00, there is nothing about vg00 on the DLE vgmodify documents

Oh well, the answer probably not, given that EFI and the partition sections are tied together.

So if they refuse to add another disk to vg00 to expand the space, take an Ignite backup, change the LUN size and then restore.

Yes, I will test trying to expand with Idisk the lvm partition, but as you say in the end I will go with ignite
