ldap-ux setup fails at the ldapsearch

Hello all
i'm having an issue with the ldap-ux setup
it fails at the ldapuxprofile,
here are the steps i'm taking
i start the ./setup
i select option 2 for windows, we have 2k3 but it shows Netscape and 2k only, so i select 2k

"Enter the host name of the directory where you want to store the profile."

here i enter the Active Directory ip address

"Enter the port number of the previously specified directory server."

here i enter 389

"Enter the distinguished name (DN) of the directory user allowed to check
if the LDAP-UX configuration profile schema exists in the directory."

Here i enter the proxy user
CN=UNIXLDAP,CN=Users,DC=enterprise,DC=corp

and the password

"Enter the distinguished name (DN) of an existing LDAP-UX profile entry"

now this is where i got confused

i entered
cn=ldapuxprofile,CN=Configuration,DC=enterprise,DC=corp
ldapuxproifile exist in the configuration container

but i get
ldap_search: Operations error
Press any key to continue:

then it ask
"Enter the distinguished name (DN) of the directory user allowed to
create a new LDAP-UX profile entry or to check an existing profile entry."

any ideas why ldap search failed?
was ldapuxprofile suppose to be a user?

ldapuxprofile exist, but it's not a user
