Hello,
I have been reading through manuals and educating myself on vxvm. I have some questions:
1> I create a striped volume disks are 16gb:
vxassist -g chrisdg make stripevol01 30g layout=stripe stwidth=128k ncolumn=4 disk05 disk06 disk07 disk08
does this mean that the vm disks cannot be used for another volume?
I am learning so any help will be most greatful.
Thanks

Solution
Hi,
Yes it can be very well used. Otherwise only 7.5GB of every disk ( Or what you initially used once) part of the disk can be used and rest will be wasted. The balance space can be used either for creating new volumes or extending current volumes. VxVM is also quite flexible like LVM.
HTH,
