lvextend of mirrored LV

I have a mirrored LV.
I want to extend this LV with lvextend.... I need do anything to mirror again?

Hi:

Simply do your 'lvextend' to enlarge the logical volume.

Hi

One thing to check also.

if you are having a 1 way mirror of an LV and wish to increase the LV by 500 MB then you will need to be 1000 MB free in the VG.

If you are having a 2 way mirrored LV and wish to increase the LV by 500 MB , you will need 3*500 MB = 1500 MB Space free in the VG.

Also you can not increase the Size of an LV and also Increase the MIrror Extent (say from 0 to 1 mirror or 1 to 2 mirrors) in the same lvextend command.

You need to have space on 2 or more different disks in the volume group but lvextend will check that and if you do not have 500 GB in 2 different places it will not extend it.
