lvm
I wanted to recreate a new vg on my server fron eva. i unpresented the lun before removing the lvm on the server. the server tells me cannot remove lvm b/cos it cannot be found

ahh more vague problem descriptions... did you consider actually telling us what commands you are running?
I'll assume lvremove/vgremove are the commands that are failing.
Just use vgexport instead. So if your vg for which you have removed the disks is called vg02 just run:
vgexport vg02
