pvcreate error (EVA 3000 and HP-UX 11v3)

i can't create a physical volume for use as a volume group.

# pvcreate /dev/rdsk/c2t0d1

If your EVA is using active/passive firmware (and I think it does, because it is HSV100), it is NOT supported with 11.31.
You need to have active/active firmware installed, see

your VCS firmware level is 3.020. minimum needed to upgrade directly to 4.007 is 3.028. refer to the release notes :
