pvcreate error

Hi All,

Getting the below error when tried to create pvcreate on a disk

pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/c1t0d0
pvcreate: writing LVM record: Interrupted system call

OS version : 10.20
Array type : CA1300(DGC)

We tried changing the disk, changed the bay where the disk goes into, even at last replaced the array itself, but the error is not leaving us.

I could see couple of threads for this error which is saying to check terminators and scsi cumulative patches.I hope terminator should be fine. What's the patch level it should be?Any other areas we need to look into?

Need all your great suggestions.

Cheers,
Shankar

Re: pvcreate error

Trace the process to see what's causing the interrupt and post the output:

# tusc -s write pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/c1t0d0

Re: pvcreate error

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

When i tried the above command,it says tusc not found and also i couldnt find it in the server.

Tried checking it by dd and it simply hangs.

Need your suggestions.

Re: pvcreate error

Hi,

Above URL states that tusc works only for HPUX 11x..but my OS version is 10.20.

Need your advice on this.
