"decrease" already extended logical volume
We have seen needed to extend one of the fileshares (normaly a very easy task that i do alot) That we create a new virual disk, present it then:
#pvcreate c******
#vgextend c****** c****** c****** c******
#lvextend -L 174080 /dev/****/lvol_1 /dev/dsk/c*****
fsadm -f vxfs -b [new block value] [partition]
----
But this one time i forgot to choose Vraid5 instead of Vraid1 when adding the new virtual drive, and its already been extended and merged with the rest that runs Vraid5.
Is it possible to "Change" raid in EVA san solutions on hp-ux? I cant just delete the drive im sure.
Running HP-UX B.11.31
vgdisplay -v **** info:
If you see the 4 last entries on this list, those are the new drive and mirrors.

Re: "decrease" already extended logical volume
This might be the problem with any "shrink" action.
Consider to create another new LUN, pvmove the extends to free up this one and finally delete it from the VG.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: "decrease" already extended logical volume
I'l see what i can do, it shouldnt be so hard the way you are telling me,
One quick question.
Since one of the 3 PV is now raid1, it wouldnt be any dangerous to have it this way? You can't lose any data of it for example? The only thing i miss is a little space?
