vgimport: Cannot open the control file

Hi

I'm trying to import 2 vg's, but it keeps complaining.
Where should I look for the problem?

# vgimport -s -v -m vg17DK4Inf01.map vg17DK4Inf01
Beginning the import process on Volume Group "vg17DK4Inf01".
vgimport: Cannot open the control file "/dev/vg17DK4Inf01/group":
No such device
# ll /dev/vg1*/group
crw-rw-rw- 1 root sys 64 0x170000 Apr 3 07:44 /dev/vg17DK4Inf01/group
crw-rw-rw- 1 root sys 64 0x180000 Apr 3 07:45 /dev/vg18DK4Inf02/group

Re: vgimport: Cannot open the control file

how many vg's do you have?
what is your maxvgs kernel parameter set to?
can you provide the output of:
ll /dev/vg*/group
My house is the bank's, my money the wife's, But my opinions belong to me, not HP!

Re: vgimport: Cannot open the control file

It helped quite a bit to change the parameter from 10 to 64. I got the 64 from our other servers. This one is a new virtual partition in a keystone.
We use global vg-id's in the XP512 SAN.
Thanks :)
