vlm info
Hi, earlier I had posted a question about the
procedures to follow after clonning the disk using dd. It worked manually,
-------------------------
After dd, booted the disk with LVM maintainance mode, exported the vg info,
Imported new vg info, created nodes in /dev/vg00/group ..,
modified the /stand/bootconf for new disk.
-------------------------
I checked all the info again lvlnboot -v, vgdisplay, strings /etc/lvmtab.. Everything is fine. Its all displaying new disk informations.
After If I reboot the machine w/o LVM maintainance mode from new disk..
Its again booted with OLD disk and showing all OLD disk info.
I could not able to boot normally with new disk. Do I need to change any more vx info/lvm files.
History: 2 disks are in same server, disk2 cloned from disk1 by dd command. Now trying
Both diffrent bootable disks on same server
Thank you,
Mahesh S Rao

Re: vlm info
Did you try to interrupt the autoboot and then use "bo P#"? (run "sea" it will list all devices P# point to your newdisk let's say)

Re: vlm info
Hi Yang,
My script is doing the 'dd' and will set the setboot options appropriately. I checked it,
Boot options are proper. disk1 will be alternate
and disk2(cloned disk) will be primary boot path

Mahesh S Rao
