vxVM import fine, but changes Volume to Disabled

Guys,

between two systems, having an issue with enabling the volume after an import.

after a reboot, the volume becomes Enabled.

see the attached word doc for command listing.

the status of the device become On-Line after the import, but the volume (say, vol1) and the Plex remain DISABLED.

any comments - throw your 2-cents in, thanks,

Tom

Re: vxVM import fine, but changes Volume to Disabled

Hi Tom,

Use this command followed by your "vxdg import tomdg".

#vxvol -g tomdg startall

This is normal behaviour in Vxvm. You need to start volumes in the dg after importing the dg.

Re: vxVM import fine, but changes Volume to Disabled

Hi Tom,

If you move a disk from one system to another during normal system operation, the Volume Manager will not recognize the disk automatically. TO tell the Volume Manager
to scan the disk to identify it, and to determine if this disk is part of a disk group use vxdiskadm and re-enable access to a disk that was disabled by either the disk group deport task or the disk device
disable (offline) operation by using the option 9 from the vxdiskadm menu.

regds...
