Hi,

Diskgroup configurations for veritas are all held on the disk headers. Are you sure the disk group has just not imported after reboot??
what does vxdisk -o alldgs list show?

Re: vxvm 3.5 losing configurations after restart.

How many disks were in the oracle disk group before reboot?
Have you tried a force import?

vxdg -f import oracle

Also strange that it looks like you have 2 rootdgs? One imported and one not......whats the deal with that one?

Re: vxvm 3.5 losing configurations after restart.

[root@nobby /]# vxdg -f import oracle
vxvm:vxdg: ERROR: Disk group oracle: import failed: Unexpected kernel error in configuration update

It is showing the eror.only ne disk is in oracle.

Another rootdg in due to the reinitialization of vxvm.

One more thig nw i just created a new dg and deported.and tryied to import it is showing error

[root@nobby /]# vxdg -n newname import test1
vxvm:vxdg: ERROR: Disk group test1: import failed: Disk for disk group not found

Hi ,

Pls try the following....

vxconfigd -k
vxdctl enable
then try
vxdg -C -f import
if any issues, pls provide vxdisk -s list as well
