I've shared almost all of my knowledge in hints/hpux.sh which I rewrote, and looking at the message you got, it works. I still guess you miss some include files and/or libraries, or just got a bad port of gcc

The download section has in the rightmost column (11.11 / 64)

"perl 5.8.2 + defined-or prepared for Oracle + DBI 1.39 + Tk 804.025_b6 built with gcc-3.3.2"

which points to

Can you provide me with your compilation options that enabled you to build such binary?

That way the community can also learn about it if source compilation is needed.
