Configuring Apache to run in 32 bit compatibility mode on Itanium & HP-UX 11.23

We need Apache to run in 32 bit compatibility mode on an Itanium HP-UX11.23. The installed version is 2.0.50 and came bundled as part of the base OS install. A swlist shows Apache as being a 64 bit version. Apche is being integrated with Neterity's Siteminder Single Sign-on software and we are getting errors trying to commnuicate. Siteminder maintains they have certified HP's Apache on Itanium with Apache being run in 32 bit compatibility mode. Since Apache is part of the OS load, there is no source to recompile, so we are trying to figure out how to make Apache run in 32 bit compatibility mode.

As info, we did do a proof of concept with Apache on a rp3440 PA-RISC server running HP-UX 11.11. Everything worked great. Even though HP-UX 11.11 is a 64 bit version, when I did a 'file' on Apache (httpd), it camee back as a PA-RISC v1.1 exectuable, which means it was compiled as a 32 bit mod. (This goes back to E, F, and T series servers).

Does anyone know how to run/configure HP's Apache distribution for Itanium to run in 32 bit mode?

Thanks

Hi,

You don't need to compile apache again for 32 bit. Because hte HP apache will support both 32 & 64 bit. They will be complied Apache with +DAportable option. You can run apache on both 32 & 64 bit.

Thanks.

There is a compiled version of HP Apache 32 bot depot is available from HP. You can check this link, http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=HPUXWSSUITE

Go to the bottom of the page and look at HP-UX 11i version 2 IPF 32-bit
