GNU gcc 4.6.1

My first public message on the new forum.

There is lots of things I do not like, but then again, we were so spoiled with
the good old ITRC forum.

I don't think I will stay here as regularly as I was available on ITRC, but I
think you will like to hear that I have now finished uploading GNU gcc-4.6.1
depots for

тАв HP-UX 11.31-IPF (64bit and 32bit)
тАв HP-UX 11.23-IPF (64bit and 32bit)
тАв HP-UX 11.11-PA2 (64bit and 32bit)
тАв HP-UX 11.00-PA2 (64bit and 32bit)

and that I am working on a HP-UX 10.20 depot (32bit) but that might fail, as compiling breaks on "out of memory" errors, and the box only has 512 Mb.

They all include binutils-2.21.1

Communications with the developers of GNU gcc has resulted in them fixing a
64bit issue for PA-RISC-2.0

I also submitted a workaround in the perl configuration, so that perl5 will now
build/compile/test correctly using a 64bit GNU gcc-4.x. I have had no feedback
yet from the gcc folk on weather they agree it was their fault or not.

The depots are available in the usual place

(where the usual place is Tux' ITRC site)

Enjoy, Have FUN! H.Merijn

Merijn,

Any thoughts on the Stats or has the new format forever killed them?

Re: GNU gcc 4.6.1

Hmm, that's a bit off-topic in the Language Section, right?

For now, consider the stats killed. So much has changed that I will have to rewrite everything, and I doubt that I can find tuits to do so.

Besides that, my few moments of "new-forum" time did not yet give me a "WOW" moment yet. Too much not to like and I miss the overview.

First thing I will have to do is rewrite my proxy and create some personal css for this new forum to make it more acceptable.

Maybe this sew site doesn't like Opera as much as I do, but creating a message the way *I* want it seems pretty hard. e.g. I have *un*ticked the use of the rich-tect editor (I'm quite capable of typing my own html please) but I do not seem to get rid of it.

My apologies - you're right I was way off topic but it was my first Merijn sighting so I took advantage.  You're not the only one struggling with the new presentation either!  Cheers.

How much swap do you have?  (If you don't care about speed.)

Re: GNU gcc 4.6.1

Swap wasn't the problem. I found out that the hard limit of 128k process memory set in the kernel caused the limit. I recompiled the kernel with a raised limit.

Process is still purring along ...

I don't care about speed. The box is just alive for perl testing, no other functions anymore (except for shipping open source once every now and then)
