Hi,
following is the output of model and uname -m.
Is this information sufficient for me conclude that my HP-UX server is not Itanium.
model:-9000/800/rp3440
uname -m :-9000/800
uname -a :-HP-UX xyz B.11.23 U 9000/800 xxxxxxx unlimited-user license

Here is what an Itanium will react for the commands shown:

$ uname -m
ia64
$ uname -a
HP-UX td194 B.11.31 U ia64 3426292962 unlimited-user license
$ model
ia64 hp server BL860c

I found out from the command output that the processor is not itanium.

Any server the has 'rp' in the model string is definitely NOT Itanium. All rp* machines are PA-RISC.

If the machine has 'rx' in the model string then it is Itanium as ALL 'rx*' machine models are Itanium.
