Installing XML::PARSER and errors when running make test

I installed XML::Parser V 2.30 on a Tru64 5.1B system. I ran into a problem with the 'make test' during the install. Is there some configuration that I have overlooked for 'make test'. The $expat_libpath and $expat_incpath were defined during the 'make' and that completed without a problem.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give.

Re: Installing XML::PARSER and errors when running make test

Hi, Inez, welcome to the forums!

I don't want you to feel frustrated, because there are some truly excellent answers to be found here. If you post your question to the Tru64 forum:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/familyhome.do?familyId=280

you might get a faster answer or one that is more appropriate to your OS (this forum is HP-UX).

Re: Installing XML::PARSER and errors when running make test

Do you have libexpat installed?

these 255 failures usually indicate core dumpt due to missing libraries.

# prove -lv t/astress.t

might give you more info (but if you have an `older' perl, it won't, and your perl does not state the perl version you use.)

Re: Installing XML::PARSER and errors when running make test

Thanks you for your responses. I did re-post my question to the Tru64 forum. And yes I did install Expat 1.958 prior to installing XML::Parser 2.30 on the Tru64 5.1B systems.
