Hello I was wondering if anyone had written a utility that can remove a specific file from lockd/statd status in the even an unplanned reboot occurs so the processes do not have to be recycled. Perhaps someone in the HP labs has seen something that can gracefully clean up some of these issues. Just curious. Thanks. A good example is a user rebooted on dhcp came back on a different ip and they have a nfs mounted home directory and they use the posix shell. The shell will try to lock the .sh_history file and lockd/statd may still think its in use.

Hi Jeff,
Yep - Dave Olker at HP has.
It's NFS ver 4 & was supposed to be bundled in 11iv2 but unfortunately has been pushed back to 11iv3.
Specifically look at the Forced NFS Filesystem Unmount section.
See attached pdf of the presentation he gave at HP World '04.
Rgds,
Jeff
