aCC Maintenance Tools

Hi All,

Recently my company purchased HP-UX Itanium server with 11.31 OS.

Now i require aCC , Can any one help me to sort out this issue.

I have a similar Itanium server which has aCC installed, can i simply copy and paste /opt aCC files to this new server /opt location.

Does it works or only solution is to download and install aCC on the new server .

I appreciate all valuable inputs .........

Re: aCC Maintenance Tools

Hi again,
you can find the required patches here in the itrc patch database:

http://www.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/mainPage.do

Enter the Patch names in the box "find a specific patch" and it will display the one you searched for, the hp recommended and the latest version.

But you will still need a valid licence, and as far as i know aCC is licenced per core.

Hi:

This would be a license violation. The compiler is a purchasable product. To attempt to copy it from one machine (on which you paid for it) to another machine (on which you haven't paid) would be like leaving a store having purchased a particular item; deciding you now want another of the same item; and simply returning to the store to fetch one; leaving without paying. Theft.

Re: aCC Maintenance Tools

If you follow the link i provided above you will find:

> The HP C/ANSI C Developer's Bundle and HP aC++ compiler products for HP-UX are now combined into a single product: the HP C/aC++ Developer's Bundle. The new product includes all of the components of the original products and more for one price with consistent per-CPU license terms on all components. This new offering will make it easier to order, upgrade, install, and maintain your compiler products.

Regarding the attached log, the question that your oracle guys must answer is:

Do you need aCC only for the installation check?
--> Take the Trial Version

Or Do you need it permanently?
--> Buy a full licence

Re: aCC Maintenance Tools

>can I simply copy and paste /opt aCC files to this new server /opt location.

As long as you have a license for every core on your two systems.

>I move this files to new server then swinstall can help to to get aCC and its dependencies: PHSS_38139.depot

This will install 11.31 libunwind but better to use: PHSS_39102

>I hope even after installation of oracle aC++ require by few programs like java etc

Why? Only if you are developing software.

It isn't likely to be needed at all.

To install "Oracle Applications", you can use aCC_link.
